Judging the quality of a thermocouple?




It is used more and more widely in production. Thermocouple has become one of the most commonly used temperature detecting components in the industry. It has the characteristics of high measurement accuracy, wide measuring range, simple structure and convenient use. The basic principle of thermocouple temperature measurement is that the material conductors of two different compositions form a closed loop. When there is a temperature gradient at both ends, there will be current flowing through the loop. At this time, there is an electromotive force between the two ends - the thermoelectromotive force. It is the so-called Seebeck effect. The homogeneous conductor of two different compositions is a hot electrode, the higher temperature end is the working end, the lower temperature end is the free end, and the free end is usually at a constant temperature.

After using the thermocouple for a period of time, there will definitely be wear and tear, and it may even be damaged. Generally, the quality of the thermocouple is related to the thermocouple wire (wire) inside it, but how to judge the quality of the even wire, this problem Let's talk about it briefly.

First of all, there is no problem in determining the appearance of the thermocouple wire. It is good or bad, and it must be determined by inspection.

Put the thermocouple wire to be tested into the porcelain sleeve for the thermocouple, put it into the tubular electric furnace together with the standard platinum-iridium thermocouple, and insert the hot end into a porous soaking metal nickel in the tubular electric furnace. In the cylinder. The cold ends of the respective compensation wires are placed in a zero degree Celsius container held by the ice water mixture.

The tubular electric furnace is maintained at the maximum allowable temperature of the thermocouple and is stably maintained in this range. At this time, the measured thermoelectric potential difference between the standard thermocouple and the thermocouple to be tested is measured and recorded using a well-tested Whistler potentiometer. According to the recorded thermoelectric potential difference, the scoring table is used to find the corresponding temperature. If the thermocouple to be tested is out of tolerance, it can be judged as unqualified.
